hey everyone!!

as usual i have too much to do and not enough time to do it:

work=HECTIC

study/exams=more work needed!! (sitting 2 exams in jun, so doing 2 weekend courses over next few months, plus need revise and do extra home study=lots of time needed!!)

poker=when i can

still cant complain really, there’s a whole lot worse things going on in the world!! like our very own pokerlass, she got some personal probs at the moment and my thoughts go to her and family and hope it can all turn out ok in the end!

pokerwise… been hit n miss and site dependent, on full tilt i been playing the $3.30 90 man KO’s for the rtr challenge, had my best result ever the other day coming 6th, though i feel coulda made top 4, played a little cash n made a few dollars one day, lost a buy in next day …..

on lwoods though i am running good!! i played bout 3 or 4 or those 6 max double ur money, = 1st x 3!! i also played some cash and finished up every time so far, touch wood!!

also i spoke to gf bout the token i won on ftp, told her i planned to play 1 of the $9k guaranteed at 8pm uk time that Mair told me bout over easter with the token, explain that it a KO so can take bountys as well as try make cash, suddenly she all happy with it, not so anti the token now!!

so pretty much all is good, also Man Utd now top of the leage and got a reasonable draw for europe though gotta be cautious bout Roma as they good side and did just beat Real Madrid

Well Man Utd made it through to quarter finals of champ league with a nervy 1-o win over Lyon, man that boy Benzena looks good i hope we can buy him in the summer if it costs £30M i think its worth it

 quick poker update, i am registered for the new Raise the River challenge, 1 month to play 12 $3.30 90 man KO’s on Full Tilt, looking forward to this  felt like i was playing well recently so hoping for a positive result but i know it wont be easy!!

 i decided to try 2 $1 9 man sng’s on ftp this morning, started well in both of them before making a mistake in 1 and getting sucked out on another, started push fold mode and bust in 6th in both, oopps

played some cash on LW’s, there were at least 5 tables this morning at 3p/6p, made bout £1.50 on 1 but down bout £3 on other…. some real loose play at the tables and just couldnt counter it

for those of you that saw my post yesterday i mention a chat with my gf at wkend, if u didnt check it out quickly,

the scene: sat afternoon been playing for an hr or so, gf comes in to see how i doing, at time i playing 2 cash tables on LW’s and 1 $8 18 man token$24+2 on ftp

tell her i killing 1 cash table, up slightly on another and going well in sng, near the payout places

she asks what i get so i explain, token to enter tourny her reply…. well thats crap!  ???? hows that i ask?

i’d much rather u win cash than tokens, what good is a token, can u withdraw it?

no, but i explian that can try a bigger sng to win more

she replies, when was last time u won anything? u really think u gonna do anything in that?

well that kinda blows the confidence a bit!!

this then evolves into a bigger chat that we had previously had and started again

basically the whole idea of building a roll doesn’t sit well with my gf, now I know that when u start building a roll u do want to get to the point where u don’t need to deposit again and u can withdraw some winnings from time to time and gradually move up the limits, but she just doesn’t agree with this, before when I got up to $600 she was asking when I gonna start withdrawing it, I said not til I get to $1000 as then I have some space to play with a roll and make a small withdrawal, she then starts going on bout what point having $1k on a site surely $600 is too much, she says why not withdraw and then deposit again when u need to, I try to explain variance and having roll to play limits and it taken me a while to get to this, if I withdraw gotta start back n grind up…. Basically in end have to leave it and agree to disagree or it would turn into big fight Now am I being unreasonable? Is there an error in my logic?

Cos basically this chat was repeated this sat when she saying the token is crap.

if only she liked & played poker, could share my interest with her, discuss hands, take her to poker club, oh well she’s great in every other way!!

anyone else had similar experience/chats?

 just a quick 2nd post on my new blog

my work is just crazy at the moment, hence little time to post on here or raise the river- a brilliant forum check out link!!

Man Utd have big game tonight against Lyon so will be cheering the boys on!!

I played a small/medium session at the weekend, went quite well

played 1 $3.30 90 man KO on FTP and was running well til i managed to shove AK into JJ to lose a big pot after that i shoved with some playable hands, stole a few blinds but ended up racing against overcards which hit!!

i also played my first games on Littlewoods

a £5 double up, man that was hard!! bust in 8th and nearly everyone had only 10-15 bb’s!! the table had been very tight and eventually i shove with Ax and got called by better A!!

but i also play a £5 headhunter, now this was good!! ending bust in 16th or 20 something, dont remember, but i took 5 heads just missed cashing but still made £10, basically broke even

i then played cash 3p/6p and i killed 1 table finishing on £18 and just up on another £10, some play was truely aweful!!

i tried them yesterday morning before work, jes!! there were 2 tables open!! so should i stick on there and play a very small group of people, maybe try get some good reads on them? or stick to full tilt before work where there is decent traffic??

had an interesting chat with gf too(will tell u bout it soon), maybe its me but she just doesnt get poker, shame, wood rock my world if she did!!

oh yeah i also play a FTP $8 18 man on sat where top 5 get $24+2 token, played good n won a token, now just what to do with it??

Don’t worry i’m not get all brainy on you, i don’t know n couldn’t care less bout all these questions (Ok i lie, most of them, why did that chicken cross the road?)

 Briefly, some of you may know or have heard the theory that the universe began with a big bang, what does this have to do with me and poker………..here goes:

as those of you who followed my old blog will know my bankroll and has been up and down more than a whores knickers, though mostly down lately, don’t we all want them to go down? (the whore i mean not our bankroll’s!!)

So as i stated the other day i starting again, a new beginning, hence the ‘clever’ title of this blog, the slate is clean, the past forgotten the only thing i care about is from this point on. 

I am only going to play where i can get rakeback, i know it wont be much but it all adds up and when ur starting from scratch you need all the help you can get, so i put $100 in full tilt and am considering littlewoods/sun poker just thinking bout time constraints

I’ve heard good things about the £3.30 90 player KO on fulltilt, so i decided to start with these, so far i’ve played 4 KO’d 1 player, and finished about 28-38th each time….. not great reading so what am i doing wrong?

well i did think this morning that when i am playing at about 7:45-8:30am uk time it is about 3am US time, maybe at that time of day most people playing are good as all the casual players wood have left by then???

So i played a little 5c/10c 6max, 1st day made $8 when i shove a double belly buster str8 draw on the turn and was called by bottom pair Ace kicker, i rivered my str8, nice result.

Day 2 lost a buy in, card dead and trying too many moves/bluffs

Day 3 (today) after yet again falling short in the KO game i sat down on a table lost a buy in and tried another table, was having some probs with internet …. i tick auto post blind but when it comes round it still asked do i want to post, i click yes… pause…. sitting out!! this happened a few times n i was bout to give up as nearly time for work when i posted the blind some how……. so this is what happened(forgive me as i don’t have the hand history, so this is from memory)

dealt A10s, 1 limper button calls also, i decide to raise to 50c, 1st limper folds, button who is sat with all of $2.25 or so jams all in…….

now because i been trying to play a hand for a good few mins i may have been a little titly, so i thought sod it and pressed call…….pause…. nothing happening, don’t tell me its bloody frozen again…… next thing i know all 5 cards are down n button is showing AA… what i will tell you know is my thought process as it happened, in the space of a second or so

 brilliant, great timing……. then i notice i am up to £12 and some change….? i won??  i look at flop 10,9,K,Q,J… i made a str8 i think… hang on he had aces did we split?… look again nope i won it all??? then i see it 9clubs,Kclubs,Q&Jclubs……….

thats right……. ROYAL FLUSH!!!!!!!!!!  my 2nd ever, and my 2 nd in like 1 or 2 months!!!

how do you crack Aces??? thats how !! BOOOOOOOOMMMM!!!!!

so just as the universe began BOOOOOOOOMMMM i am taking this as the start of my new poker travels

currently i am the equivalent of a 1 celled organism, tiny,minute ready and waiting to evolve to grow and learn, adapt and flourish!!!
